Project Scope:

This new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant improved energy efficiency and reduced energy consumption at the Syracuse VA Medical Center in upstate New York.

The CHP Plant includes a nominal 520 kW natural-gas fired, eight-65 kW microturbine package. Facility upgrades also included installation of hydronic pumps, hot water supply pipe and return pipes for hot water distribution, natural gas piping, and switchgear upgrades. The CHP includes heat exchangers, roof-mounted microturbines with exhaust silencers, integral heat exchangers, a roof-mounted dry cooler, and a structural steel platform.
